We all have times when life doesn't go the way we
planned! Someone in the family has a serious illness; a marriage ends
and families are torn apart; finances are dwindling; accidents happen!
Where do we turn and how do we react? How do we ever overcome these kinds of happenings in
life?
Today's devotional, along with a recent sermon at my church, remind me about two characteristics
that can, with God's help, keep us going:
endurance and hope! Our
pastor asked us questions like, "Do I still have hope and can I
endure?" "Is it going to crush me or can I re-evaluate life and move
on?"
Today's reading reminds us that we don't have to be crushed in those challenging times. We are told of the importance to
stop
and affirm our trust in our Lord, and then stay close to Him "through
thankful, trusting prayers, resting in my sovereign control." For me,
that is the only way that endurance and hope can continue.
Do
you have a story to share about a difficult time in which you or
someone you know continued to have trust, endurance and hope?
