One of the "facts of life" is that adversity comes to everyone -
but often to some people a lot more than others! As a member of my church's prayer
team, I have the privilege of praying daily for a mass of
people, many having tremendous adversities. It is appalling and often heart-wrenching to realize what people are going through. However, it is a blessing to be able to pray for them and at times give them encouragement and support. We are also reminded in today's devotional of the blessing that can come with adversity - being "the best place to encounter Me (God) in My Glory and Power."
Today's
devotional reading ties closely to the one from yesterday which
was a reminder of God's never-ending love and Presence. Today's words
that were most reassuring to me were, "..rest in the shadow of My Almighty Presence." What do you do to rest in the Lord when you are in the middle of adversity?
