The words that spoke most powerfully to me in today's reading are, "Don't worry about what is around the next bend. Just concentrate on enjoying my Presence..." The word enjoy especially got my attention in that even when things around me are not going the way I would like, I can still enjoy the Presence of our Lord.

I recently read a poem in a book called  In Touch With NOW, by Rev. Patsy Brundige. The title is "Hold Me" and fits in perfectly with today's focus. The first verse says,
Hold me Lord, in your holy embrace.
     Hold me, enfold me,
     Don't let me slip away.
Today's devotional and this poem remind me of the need to ask our Lord to hold us - and for me to hold on to Him. This seems to best be done for me through making it a priority to have times of silence and solitude each and every day.

I realize that I have referred several times to  "I'll Never Let Go of Your Hand." From the first time I listened intently to these words, they touched my heart in a powerful way. I pray they do that for your in your worship time today.

Do you have a story to share about how God changed your life when you decided to take time to ENJOY the Presence of our Lord?
