Waiting on Our Gifts

One of my favorite scriptures is the one today from Galatians 5:22-23 about the "fruit of the Spirit." I once heard a sermon in which the pastor said that since "fruit" is singular, we should have all these gifts once God's Spirit is living in us. That has always been a challenge for me since I believe that God's Spirit IS working in me - but I certainly don't have all those "fruits." Today's reading is comforting in that maybe some of these gifts are "hidden at first" but will eventually blossom and produce real fruit. That is my prayer for me and all who are waiting on that time of "blossoming!"
