Give Your Loved Ones to God

I'd like to think that I DO entrust my loved ones to God! However, I have been in discussions in Bible study groups about the scripture from today about Abraham and Isaac. Most of us have said that we probably don't have the kind of faith that Abraham had!

As parents, do you think that is what we have to do as we "let go and let God" take over the lives of our children as they go out into the world - beginning in kindergarten? I had never thought of Abraham having "sonworship," of Isaac as Sarah Young described in today's reading. I think that in today's world a term used is "helicopter parenting" - about parents who hover too closely over their children even when they are grown.

I especially appreciate the reminder that our loved ones are so much safer in God's hands than in my "clinging hands." I thank God for His Promise that He will "go with them (our loved ones) wherever they go, and ....give them rest."
