It always amazes me when I hear stories and see pictures from some areas of the world
where people have little or no food to eat or water to drink or clothes
to wear! Yet many of these people appear to REJOICE in the Lord with tremendous gratitude in a way that
I only wish for! I'll never forget the comment from a friend who went
on a mission trip to one of these countries: "They have what I want (joy
and peace), and I have what they need (food, house, clothing, etc.)"
Surely that can happen in only one way - as today's devotional tells us:
"Practice trusting and thanking Me (God) continually."
I was not familiar with the hymn, "Rejoice the Lord is King!"
but found that that many of the words remind me of today's scriptures
from Philippians and Psalms: "Lift up your heart; Lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say rejoice!" Please join me in listening closely to
the beautiful words of this hymn as you worship today.
