The first two sentences in today's devotional spoke profoundly to me: "Taste and see that I am good. The more intimately you experience Me, the more convinced you become of My goodness." The question is, "How intimately do I experience my Lord?" To really get to know others, we have to spend time with them - and LISTEN to them as well as talk to them. I am slowly "assimilating" this idea as part of spiritual formation as I strive to grow closer to my Lord and become more like Him.
I hope that you will go to www.BibleGateway.com or another Bible-search link and input the word "Peace." There is no doubt that God DOES want us to live in peace here on earth as well as in heaven! Otherwise, there would not be so many references to this little word in the Bible! Today's scripture from Colossians 3:15 says it so clearly: "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."
Let us praise God for filling us with His Peace so that we can say and sing, "It Is Well With My Soul." If you have never read the story behind the song, it is told in this rendition of "It Is Well." It will be worth your time to read about the writer, Horatio Spafford when he wrote this beautiful hymn.
