Today's reading is a wonderful reminder that to truly experience
God's eternal Love, we have to first be still in His Presence - and get
to know Him. In various Bible classes that I have been in, this subject
has repeatedly come up in that it seems to be the most difficult
spiritual discipline. What a blessing to know that "The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord" as we read in today's scripture from Jeremiah 31:3.
I have referred before to the hymn, "Be Still My Soul,"
but once again I am enjoying it today. Invariably, this time of silence and solitude brings about
blessings; however, I need to remember to take the time to accept the fact that God -
"Faithful will remain." Do you have another hymn or scripture passage that helps put you into communication (including listening) with our Lord and listen for His Word for your life?
