I will have to admit that this particular "command" for living the
Christian life is sometimes difficult for me! I keep asking myself, "Does this
scripture really mean what it says?" I appreciate Sarah Young's
encouraging words about the importance of giving thanks in ALL
circumstances - even though those circumstances might not change. Her
reassurance came to me in particular with the words, "Thankfulness opens
your heart to My Presence and your mind to My thoughts."
Do
you give thanks for everything? Have you had a change of heart and/or
reassurance of God's love and Presence when doing so? Please share you
thoughts on this sometimes challenging scripture from Ephesians 5:20. Another related scripture is Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (which gives a slightly different light to
this command).
