Choose Joy!

Have you ever wished for more joy in your life? I'll have to admit that sometimes I feel that way. I have also heard that comment from some older friends who have no family nearby and who have multiple health issues. Today's devotional is such a blessing in reminding us that God's Presence and Companionship "can infuse Joy into the grayest day!" I appreciate the scripture and also Sarah Young's words that sometimes we have to search for that joy "as for hidden treasure."

I have recently mentioned about a book and video lessons by Kay Warren called, Choose Joy!  In these lessons, she talks about "parallel times" in our lives. On the one side is the good things: God, family, friends, church, house to live, food to eat, etc. On the other side are the worries and fears: health, money, family members, our country, safety, etc. However, we can "choose joy" at anytime when God's Presence is with us and when we know that He is guiding our steps.

Today's reading and scripture reminded me of a wonderful song that children often learn in Sunday School. Even though it's written for children, it's one of those that might change a gloomy day to a bright one for children and adults. I hope that you enjoy this delightful video of  "I've Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Down in My Heart".

How do you face trials and challenging times but yet keep joy in your life and heart?
