A friend recently told me about her "exasperation" in having to WAIT
on God's guidance for her life. Today's devotional speaks clearly about
how important it is for us to "Wait quietly in My Presence while My thoughts form silently in the depths of your being." That's certainly easier said than done, but we are assured that is the way we can really hear His still, small voice!
Today's reading reminds me of a book I have recently mentioned and studied, "Invitation to Silence and Solitude" by Ruth Barton. The author refers to words of Henri Nouwen, that “Without solitude, it is
virtually impossible to live a spiritual life.” She goes on to explain the lifetime journey of truly experiencing God's Presence in our everyday lives. - That can only happen by waiting on Him and listening for him in times of solitude and silence.
I especially like the idea of God's thoughts forming in me. What part of this devotional and/or scriptures spoke to you?
