Jesus taught us on many occasions that we are not to judge! That
seems plain and simple but yet so challenging as to how Jesus expects us
to act and "be!"
I had never thought of this
"commandment" of our Lord the way it is written in today's devotional.
As you read, the devotional reminds us not to judge people, situations,
ourselves - "as if judging were your main function in life." As
I read these words, it made me think how sad it must make our Lord when
He hears us waste our time in judging others - as if that was most important thing we do!
I
believe that God expects us to do His work here on earth - to be His
hands, feet, and mouth. I pray that others can see at least little bits
of His life in and through me. I know that doesn't happen if I use my
time and energy in criticizing others!
Have you been around people who are constantly criticizing/judging
others? How does it make you feel? How do you think others feel about us
when we spend time being judgmental?
