Jesus Is Calling

Today's scriptures are filled with such encouraging words of what our Lord is offering to us: His Hope, Peace, and Joy. Since I was a child, I have had a tendency to look at my weaknesses; I was raised in a home where I was constantly told "You know you can not do... Why do you even try?" I'm sure that is why today's words touched me in such a powerful way. They give me hope when I let my weakness "be a door to My (God's) Presence."

Another powerful scripture is 2 Corinthians 12:9: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. With promises like this, how could we ever forget all that He offers to us?

The beautiful hymn, "Softly and Tenderly, Jesus is Calling" is a wonderful one that reminds us of God's pleading for us to come nearer to Him each and everyday.
