I recently purchased a plaque that had written on it today's scripture from Psalm 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." I replaced a broken clock with this plaque and find myself looking at it many times a day. What a blessing to be reminded throughout the day that God did make this day and that I do need to give thanks and rejoice in it!
Today's scripture from Philippians 4 is another of my favorites, especially the phrase: "...let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ." When I re-read it today, I began thinking about what it means to have God "guard" our hearts. It seems that it might mean that He will keep our hearts safe from worries and keep it focused on Him. How do you interpret the meaning of this passage?
After reading today's devotional and scriptures, please take time to listen to the words of this beautiful hymn, "Give Thanks With a Grateful Heart." If
you are like me, you will want to listen to it several times as we
thank God for all He has done for us. By continually thanking Him, we
WILL feel His Presence and Peace.
