We don't have to be reminded that no one has a "problem-free" life or live in a problem-free world! What a blessed reminder in today's reading and scriptures that our Lord has overcome the world! - We CAN enjoy Him and glorify Him in the midst of our troubles! - His Light shines more brightly when we continue to trust Him in difficult times!
I think God has been trying to get this message embedded in my mind and heart during the last several months. I have read devotionals, Sunday School materials and other readings in which the term "joy" and "enjoy" keep showing up again and again. I can't help but think of the children's song, "I've Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Down in My Heart." The scripture that has spoken to me repeatedly is, "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
