Be Still Before the Lord

Today's reading is a wonderful reminder that to truly experience God's eternal Love, we have to first be still in His Presence - and get to know Him. In various Bible classes that I have been in, this subject has repeatedly come up in that it seems to be the most difficult spiritual discipline.

I have referred before to the hymn, "Be Still My Soul," but once again I am enjoying it today. Invariably it brings about blessings as I take the time to realize and accept the fact that God - "Faithful will remain." Do you have another hymn that helps put you into "solitude" with our Lord?

  1. Today Sarah Young urges us to develolp "friendship" with the Lord. Of course that mandates being still and quiet in His presence...hard to do. I have gained insights on that very discipline in Ann Lamot's new book on prayer, entitled "Help. Thanks. Wow."
